With a little something for everyone, Tropicália Fest united a wide range of audiences at The Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA on November 11. From headliners like Chicano Batman, Jhené Aiko, and Kali Uchis to rising stars including Yellow Days, Smino, and Jorja Smith, the festival’s sold-out debut gave fans a truly unforgettable experience.
In addition to all the lovely music that filled the air, attendees were also given access to a taco buffet featuring a wide range of vendors from along the West Coast. Fan favorites like Carnitas El Mono and Burritos Del Palma served up their classics among many others.
Tropicália gave light to many Latino artists and beyond. Being able to catch artists like King Krule and Smino in the same day showcased their ability to bridge multiple audiences and genres. While we await more information on the next one, check out a few photos from Tropicália below.

With a diverse and exciting lineup, the debut Tropicália Music & Taco Festival is quickly approaching next week. The festival will take place on November 11 at Queen Mary Park in Long Beach, CA, allowing fans to indulge in a wide selection of all-you-can-eat tacos while enjoying performances from the likes of Chicano Batman, Kali Uchis, and Jhené Aiko.
To help you sort through the roster of talent, we’ve compiled a list of five artists you don’t want to miss. In no particular order, let’s begin:
Smino has been racking up his accolades all year. From his critically-acclaimed blkswn debut to touring with SZA and T-Pain, the St. Louis star continues to refine his back-to-back multi-entendres and punchy delivery. His high-octane energy always makes for an unforgettable preformance.
2. Jessie Reyez
Jessie Reyez radiates with soul and passion on each track. Her seriously divine vocal work leaves her emotions raw and uncut. The Toronto-based artist highlights her versatility from dainty acoustic ballads like “Figures” to aptly confident bangers like “Blue Ribbon” with Tim Suby, sure to please new fans and familiar faces alike
GoldLink has come a long way since The God Complex. Recently crowned platinum for At What Cost single “Crew” with Brent Faiyaz and Shy Glizzy, the DMV representative uses his finger roll flow and taste for bouncy beats to craft vivid stories for all. With another North America headlining tour in the books and a Europe tour on the way, be sure to wile out with GoldLink.
4. Cosmo Pyke
Tropicalia Fest will mark a rare performance from London gem Cosmo Pyke. Cuts like “Great Dane” and “Chronic Sunshine” use a colorful palette to paint a warm atmosphere. His soothing voice glides over buttery guitar licks that reels in listeners with ease.
5. Jorja Smith
I first came across Jorja Smith when she unveiled Project 11 back in 2016. After featuring on Drake‘s More Life project earlier this year and “Tyrant” by Kali Uchis, Jorja continues to climb the charts. Her latest offering with Preditah titled “On My Mind” combines her flawless croons with whipping production to create a late night experience.
