Emerging solo R&B artist Sloan Evans embarked on his very first tour as a special guest on Yeek’s Black Heart Tour this past June. With his first appearance in San Francisco before the ultimate completion of the West Coast leg in San Diego, Sloan runs through songs from his 2017 album mia and various fan favorites including “Apologies,” which is approaching 300,000 streams on Spotify. In addition to older tracks, Sloan gave fans a sneak peek of new music that we can expect in the near future.

Zuma. & Nsolo Connect For “Haste”

When two forces like Zuma. and Nsolo link up on a track, we’re sure to be in for a treat. The latest collab from the San Diego tag team pairs Zuma.’s ethereal production with Nsolo’s alluring falsetto, melding a wide array of percussion and plucked melodies. Reeling in listeners with its hazy atmosphere and echoing synths, “Haste” will definitely stay in heavy rotation while we wait for more.

If you missed it, Zuma. recently premiered “All Nite” featuring Lenis Kim via Royál X, his first release with the Miami-based label.

Avalon Young Unveils Dreamy Album, ‘Shift’

To kick off September in style, San Diego’s own Avalon Young has shared her debut album, Shift. Her blend of R&B and soul travels through a wide range of production from the likes of Midi JonesJayme David Silverstein, and Jonah Christian, coupled with intimate features from Xavier Omär and Maurice Moore. Pairing her sultry croons and clever lyrics with a taste for groovy melodies, Avalon’s 11-track collection serves as a proper introduction to her infectious sound.

AbJo Shares New Project, ‘#VIBRA’

[Art by Choosey]

San Diego’s own AbJo of Soulection has been slaying the game for quite some time now—I got my first taste of his banging production back when he performed at the Warehouse Takeover earlier this year, hosted by The Travelers Club. Sharing the stage with fellow locals JR Jarris and Andy Internets, as well as Khary and headliner Maségo, it didn’t take long for me to be hooked to his sound.

Building from his recent bundle of loosies, See You On The Other Side, AbJo has unveiled his new project, #VIBRA. His latest collection follows 2014’s Vibração Conmigo in his Latin-inspired series, blending the culture with hard-hitting kicks, crisp snares, and a wide range of melodies sure to have you feeling the vibes.

Stream #VIBRA below, and drop some love for the project at AbJo’s Bandcamp.

Mark Javier // “Cayman Islands” (Stream)

Mark Javier blessed the world with a soothing instrumental tonight titled “Cayman Islands.” Mark is an Orange County native currently based in San Diego where he juggles life both as a student and as a producer. His latest track features an elegant guitar sample matched with minimalistic percussion that together produce a serene atmosphere and vibe-filled track.

As an artist, I have been fortunate enough to work with Mark, who produced a few of my earliest tracks. I attribute a large amount of my resilience and dedication to Mark and his constant support— can’t wait to see what we’ll whip up next!
