GoldLink is one of the main frontmen of the current wave of hip-hop. Hailing from the DMV, GoldLink got his first break from his 2014 project titled The God Complex, a trip into overdrive. The powerful artist eventually connected with Rick Rubin, who would executive produce the Soulection-released follow-up And After That, We Didn’t Talk, covering the perils of a young heartbreak.
Flash forward to 2017, GoldLink inked a deal with RCA Records. “Fall In Love” and Grammy-nominated “Crew” would serve as the two main singles from his At What Cost debut album.
This past week, GoldLink led a trip down memory lane for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert series, performing cuts from each of the three projects. With a full band behind him, including close collaborator Louie Lastic on bass, GoldLink throws an even more soulful spin on many fan favorites.
