Fresh off his first headlining tour this past spring, Dave B. has continued to flourish with a steady stream of tracks like “Dive” and “Buckets.” The Seattle-bred emcee is shaping to be one of the suavest in the game right now with no signs of slowing anytime soon.
“Only” stands as his latest dose of soul and raps, featuring tour mates Romaro Franceswa and AbJo of Soulection. Their bouncy cadences flow nicely over sparse piano chords and a barrage of percussion, driving the track forward. With a refreshing vigor behind them, the three join forces to craft one of my all-time favorites.

One of Seattle’s most promising artists Dave B. continues to impress with each track. His latest, titled “Buckets,” embraces his soulful roots as he floats in the space between rapping and singing. Dave’s truly infectious sound is backed by a triumphant foundation from Nima Skeemz and Mello Papi, uniting their talents in another sonic gem we’ll have on repeat alongside “Dive” and Tomorrow.

On the heels of his first headlining tour—which featured the likes of Romaro Franceswa, AbJo, and Travis Thompson—Seattle’s blossoming talent Dave B. is back with another impressive offering titled “Dive.” Dave rides an aquatic beat that he co-produced alongside frequent collaborators Mello Papi and Warm Gun, highlighting his blend of rapping and singing over sparse chords and subtle guitar plucks. The overall warm atmosphere of the tune carries a calming energy and demonstrates Dave’s combo of stellar songwriting and delivery.

Dave B. is one of the most promising artists in the game right now. The Seattle-bred artist first caught my attention with “Olive Oil,” which quickly led me to his Punch Drunk and Coffee projects. Dave channels soul with his unique blend of singing and rapping throughout each track, most recently with his collaborative album with Sángo, Tomorrow.
Dave sat with Joe Kay on Soulection Radio to shed light on Tomorrow, his creative process, and his recent shows at The Novo and with Macklemore. The interview wraps up with a performance of “Zonin’,” the opening song of the album, as well as an unreleased track.

On the heels of the Sango-produced Tomorrow and touring with Macklemore, Dave B. has returned with “Mister Softee.” The Seattle-based artist continues to refine his rapping/singing hybrid over crunchy drums and smooth keys from Jake One, who also laid the foundation for “Leaves.” Sharing the same name as the popular ice cream truck, Dave’s latest track channels an undeniable soul with his mellow lines.

Dave will also be sharing the stage with Tiffany Gouche, Iman Europe, and Andres Uribe in LA next week. Peep the flyer and grab your tickets here.
A few months back, Dave B. and Sángo of Soulection connected for “Got It From,” propelling the powerful duo into the spotlight. After maintaining momentum with “Parallel” and “Help Me Find A Way,” the Seattle powerhouse has unveiled their joint album, Tomorrow. Sángo paints a wide range of soundscapes for Dave to handle with ease as he strings together soft croons and a collection of flows with each verse.
Tomorrow weaves together a sonic medley of upbeat bangers and hazy cuts, and features a single guest appearance from Key Nyata on “Do Not Disturb.” Iconic Seattle producer Jake One, who has worked with Dave in the past on tracks like “Leaves” and “The Way,” also steps in to co-produce “Whatever Happens.” Culminating in a cohesive sound, Tomorrow easily stands as one of the smoothest albums of the year.

From his latest project, Punch Drunk, to recent collabs with Sángo, Dave B is one of the most promising artists out. Seamlessly transitioning between smooth singing and rapping, Dave continues to craft and hone his signature sound.
If you enjoyed “Parallel” and “Got It From” as much as we did, you’re in luck—Dave and Sángo announced they have a full project together titled Tomorrow. The Soulection producer shared the news on Twitter earlier this week:
To get us even more hyped, the Seattle duo has dropped off their latest track, “Help Me Find A Way.” Balancing Sángo’s hard-hitting production with Dave’s suave delivery, this is one we’ll definitely have on repeat.
Their new track is also accompanied by Dave’s latest music video for Punch Drunk‘s “Outside.” Directed by Warsame Warsame and Samuel J. Roberts, who also brought “Worth It” to life, follows Dave rapping alongside vibrant hedges and puppies while sipping slow.
