GEOTHEORY Goes All In With “Suede” Remix

As one of the leading duos currently in the game, Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge show no signs of slowing anytime soon. The force recognized as NxWorries dropped off their debut album last October, titled Yes Lawd!, showcasing their unparalleled sonic chemistry throughout each of the tracks.

On the heels of his constant stream of catchy loosies and remixes, New York’s own GEOTHEORY hits our pages for the first time with his stellar remix of “Suede.” GEOTHEORY injects the already smooth lead single from Yes Lawd! with an array of melodies that seamlessly dance together in a call-and-response fashion. Topped off with electrifying synths and basslines, GEOTHEORY strikes gold with his latest flip.

NxWorries Release Album Of The Year Contender, ‘Yes Lawd!’

It’s been a banner year for Anderson .Paak, who earlier this January erupted into the scene with his triumphant Malibu album. On the heels of touring with his band The Free Nationals, .Paak shows no signs of slowing anytime soon as he expands his creative endeavors with acclaimed producer Knxwledge, together known as NxWorries. The powerful duo recently unveiled their debut album named after .Paak’s iconic tagline, Yes Lawd! Building upon “Suede” and “Lyk Dis,” the project showcases a blend of lo-fi hip-hop production and sensual, seductive lyrics throughout to create one of the smoothest listens you’ll hear in 2016.

88rising Debuts Visuals For Thane, BJ the Chicago Kid & Anderson .Paak’s “Responsibilities”

Milwaukee’s Thane scored some serious features for his August project Topia. Despite Mick Jenkins and Solei being in the mix, the standout track on the album is without a doubt “Responsibilities,” which showcases Anderson .Paak and BJ The Chicago Kid, a collaboration many fans have been wishing to see more of. BJ links up with .Paak following his feature on Malibu, delivering a collaboration to quell any doubts that the duo’s previous success was a one-off. The two bounce off each other, trading bars so fluently it’s hard to figure out where one ends and the other starts. Thane’s production offers a stellar instrumental employing a jazzy, funky theme that complements the duo’s vocals perfectly.

The intrigue of the song is added to with visuals provided by BRDG and 88rising as the latest episode of their SEEING SOUNDS series. Thane’s track is accompanied by psychedelic digital visuals of eyes, mouths, skulls, and a ton of other vibrant animations. The eclectic visuals come together to run with the song brilliantly, capturing its energy and flow. It’s hard to define what the collective created for “Responsibilities” other than how 88rising itself describes it: a “union of sound through vision.”

88rising’s unprecedented popularity has given it the massive opportunity to bring underground artists to the fore, something the collective is capitalizing on in a impressively unique way. Check out their work-up of “Responsibilities” below, and stream Thane’s album on Soundcloud.

Anderson .Paak has been having an insane year.

Fresh off his Malibu tour and the critical acclaim surrounding his debut album, .Paak and producer Knxwledge, known together as NxWorries, have announced Yes Lawd! will drop October 21. Their debut album is named after .Paak’s infamous cry and follows last year’s Link Up & Suede EPYes Lawd! will feature both “Link-Up” and “Suede,” the latter of which helped .Paak score six features on Dr. Dre‘s Compton, as well as a spot on Aftermath Entertainment.

Anderson .Paak Unveils ‘Spotify Sessions’ Live Album

Adding to his ever-growing list of accolades, Anderson .Paak has delivered his first live album. His Spotify Sessions project was recorded earlier this year during his time at SXSW 2016 and focuses heavily on his Malibu album, while incorporating gems like his Jonwayne collab “Green Light” and Venice‘s “Miss Right.” Concluding with NxWorries‘ (his duo with Knxwledge) lead single “Suede,” the collection is just a taste of what you can expect from a .Paak concert.

NxWorries is also set to drop their full-length album later this year, Yes Lawd, following their debut Link Up & Suede EP. In the meantime, stream .Paak’s Spotify Sessions below and revisit his NPR Tiny Desk concert with The Free Nationals.

Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals Stop By NPR Tiny Desk

Anderson .Paak and his band The Free Nationals have continued to impress music fans around the world with their unique sound, weaving between the spectrum of tunes we heard on Venice to the soulful cuts of Malibu. The stacked group of talent recently stopped by NPR for their Tiny Desk Series, which has been blessed from the likes of The Internet and Leon Bridges in the past.

.Paak begins his set with a couple cuts from Malibu before finishing off with crowd favorite, “Suede.” The bare-bones rendition of each track maintains the sultriness and synergy we love from the group, while also serving as the perfect introduction for new fans.

Mac Miller Shares Collab With Anderson .Paak, Announces New Album & Tour

Most of your favorite artists today have likely worked with hip-hop veteran Mac Miller, whose previous LA home has seen a wide range of talent from the industry. Last September, the Pittsburgh native dropped off his GO:OD AM LP, his third studio album and the follow-up to 2013’s Watching Movies with the Sound Off.

Earlier today, and as a pleasant surprise for many anxious fans like myself, Miller took to Zane Lowe‘s Beats 1 show to announce his forthcoming album, The Divine Feminine, will hit speakers September 16. For the first taste of the project, Miller recruits master of all trades Anderson .Paak for their first collab, “Dang!” .Paak handles the hook with his signature rasp, setting up Miller for a few slick verses. Funky guitar riffs and horn stabs from Pomo set the scene as the duo dives into the bouts with love many of us know all too well.

With further guest appearances from Kendrick LamarCee-Lo Green, and Robert Glasper, Miller’s upcoming album is one we can’t wait to hear. Check out “Dang!” and his upcoming tour dates below, and grab your pre-order of The Divine Feminine.
