Bringing us more content from his new album, G2’s Life Pt. 2, G2‘s visual set for “Bang” is an appropriately disorienting video. Joined by collaborators Dumbfoundead, Bago, and Los, the multilingual rapper creates a trippy, muted vibe underscored by animated alterations and visual flickerings that pull in and out of focus on the quartet.
G2’s first verse sees him weave Korean and English bars in a stop-start flow as his dreadlocked profile bounces across the frame. Bago takes charge of the hook, bodying the instrumental with a sinister sing-songy delivery that enforces the disquieting effect of the visuals. Los and Dumb trade verses for the latter half of the track, each offering their own special brand of demented flows that echo the deliveries of G2 and Bago. The result is a comprehensive track with a comprehensive set of visuals very in keeping with the style G2 has branded as his own.
The exciting young rapper proved again with his latest set of visuals that he has the chops to trade bars with some of the most experienced in the game. G2 not only matched the three he brings to the track, but, in some ways, very much becomes the focal point and tone-setter of the track.
