Jay Prince’s ‘Smile Good’ Mixtape is Uplifting & Refreshing

Over the past few years, Jay Prince has carved a lane for himself with his crisp raps and production. The London artist debuted his new Smile Good mixtape last weekend, featuring previous single “Father, Father” and topped with appearances from Danny SethMichael ChristmasRaheaven, and Jordan Rakei. His start-and-stop verses stay in the pocket of several beatsmiths including Jonah ChristianTre, and MXXWLL. Jay places his vocal dexterity at the forefront, providing a nice contrast between unapologetic flexes like “Squad” alongside soulful hits like “Where You Belong.” Overall, Smile Good is an energetic, cohesive, and addictive project that exemplifies Jay’s prowess on the mic and on the boards.
