Jesse James Solomon is not one to overshare. His debut project Jesse James From SE dropped in 2014, but it was his subsequent project, The Ride Home, that captured the attention of many. A leading example of the myriad of talent cultivated in London, Jesse brings a relaxed and introspective style to the energetic musical scene that has been cultivated in England’s capital. In addition to his entrancing EPs and various singles, Jesse brings a creative and captivating vision to his music which he translated into stunning visuals for his track “Y.P.T.”, off The Ride Home.
Since the release of The Ride Home, Solomon has been cagey with his releases. However, the Londoner recently reminded us just what he has in his locker. Teaming with friend and frequent collaborator Rejjie Snow, Solomon brings his nonchalant flow to “Yea Yea.” Solomon writes that the song was “made for fun,” and it certainly comes off as such. He and Snow toss the mic back and forth, creating an uninterrupted three minutes of UK that is simultaneously energetic and laid back. With only two projects over the last two years, we can only hope that “Yea Yea” is indicative of things to come from Jesse.
