Last month I had the pleasure of presenting Lani Rose‘s debut track, “Reset.” To keep the momentum going, fellow WTFCAMP member Chase Aaron has dropped off his new cut, “Falling.” Chase handles vocals, production, and engineering himself, demonstrating his various talents for the latest taste of his upcoming Edge XVI EP. Fusing a chain of echoing riffs and hard-hitting percussion, he channels his battles with love via powerful, sultry croons.
Chase also gave some insight on the track via email:
“I wrote it based on the idea of being in someone you love’s corner, and them not being appreciative of it. Treating it as if it was expected and not offering any reciprocity. I used a sample from Omarion’s ‘Love & Other Drugs’ and put my own edgy touch on it. For every song on this Edge XVI EP, I’ve done my best to incorporate some grungy, rock-esque sounds and instruments. That’s the idea behind this new sound we’re working on that we’re calling Edge R&B [or just Edge], hence the EP title. It’s the birth of this sound made up of 90’s and 2000’s R&B vibes, with a mix of 90’s grunge. We’ve taken something clean, bright and based off of love and mixed it with lots of flaws, darkness and angst, which is the best way I would describe it. Seems like an odd mix to most but I think we make it work.”
With their wide range of talent, WTFCAMP continues to impress with each release. Get familiar with Chase below and stay tuned for more info on Edge XVI.
