The Citrus Clouds Return With Green Thumbs & Heavy Hearts For “Thorns on a Rose”

Knowing better becomes irrelevant when The Citrus Clouds hear the siren song of a lover, leading to the rationalization that every rose has its thorns and pain is inevitable in any romantic encounter.

Atmospheric samples, synths, and effects hover above a consistent groove of 808s and percussion, while the vocals detail a story full of reluctant lust and expert persuasion. “Thorns on a Rose” is a personal narrative that remains all too familiar for most of us.

Released via Film Noir: Sound, the track features a two for one bonus song “Roots”, featuring Old Tribe and following the botanical theme of its predecessor, the song details the stubbornness of love in its tendency to hide below the surface even after a relationship dies.
